“AGING in PLACE: 5 Steps to Designing a Successful Living Environment for Your Second Half of Life”

“Hi Aaron, I requested your book and I’m just now reading it.  I find it packed with vital information. Your opening quote by Maya is my favorite. I knew instantly that I had to read it!!! …Your compassion and understanding of the elderly and handicapped has come from listening. I wish you the best of luck {on your] path ! Great job, Aaron!”

— Molly Wagner

“Aaron Murphy’s book is a great resource for people who value their independence. I’m a financial adviser who specializes in working with people who are retired and getting ready to retire. Most people tell me they never want to be a burden to their family either physically or financially. Aarons book provides great tips to help you save money in the long run and ideas that can help you stay in your own home for as long as possible. This book provides real life case studies of people he has helped and gives you things to consider as you construct your plan. I hope more city planners and county officials will read this book to get ideas on how to make our communities more sustainable for our aging population. I’m reminded by reading this book that you don’t know what you don’t know and how true experts can help provide so much clarity and confidence that ultimately helps us make better decisions.”

— Jason Parker, Owner of Parker Financial (Retirement Planning)

“What a forward thinking smart idea! I love all things architecture and home and this book taught me that it’s never too late to start planning ahead. I love the idea of creating your future in the home you already love. It’s big thinking to teach smart planning! You’ve gotta get this book if you want to create a space to live in and be proud of spending the end of your days in!”

— Nicole Gabriel, author of “Finding Your Inner Truth”

Aaron D. Murphy, owner of ADM Architecture and Managing Editor at EmpoweringTheMatureMind.com in the Seattle area (Poulsbo, Wa.) is scheduled to release their first national book on January 20th, 2014. Murphy’s book is titled “Aging In Place: 5 Steps to Designing a Successful Living Environment for Your Second Half of Life”, and is being self-published locally with the help of PublishNext as a professional consultant. The book will be available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble, among other retail book stores, both in hard copy and as an E-book for table readers. Murphy has been speaking and teaching on the subject of “Aging in Place” for 4 years, both locally and more recently at a national level. His first book is all about how housing design needs to change to make our future better as an individual who wants to stay in their own home and community longer, happier, healthier, and safer. He also addresses a society at large that is going to be required to make some paradigm shifts in our thinking, to be successfully ahead of the housing changes that will be needed to accommodate those 78 million baby boomers turning 65 years old at a rate of 10,000 every day for the next 18 years.

Murphy states, “We are so excited for our first book to come out, as there are so many people in the U.S. and abroad that need inspiration, motivation, and education on “Aging in Place” to get started NOW! If we don’t get ahead of this ‘Silver Tsunami’ of the boomer demographic, we are going to drown trying to play catch up.”

ADM’s architecture firm & residential design focus as an NAHB (National Association of HomeBuilders) CAPS “Certified Aging in Place Specialist” is to empower those baby boomers and their families (adult children as well as their own parents) to stay independent and in their own homes for as long as it’s safely possible. “Good design and planning can accomplish exactly that successful outcome, and it’s astronomically more affordable to plan ahead with good design modifications at home when compared to the alternative costs of facility care in assisted living or nursing home setting.” states Murphy. “I’ve proven that on paper, and when I speak publicly people are astounded at the cost comparison.”
